The Rescue Collection - Part I

by Sica Schmitz | Posted on March 25 2016

It's no secret that at Bead & Reel two of our great loves are animals and fashion, so of course we were thrilled to teamed up with local dog rescue The REAL Bark to photograph their adorable adoptable dogs with some of our favorite animal-friendly styles.

While there's no doubt that each pup is model material, their real aspiration is to find a loving family to call their own. Please enjoy, share, and let's help find these boys their forever homes!

Dressed to Save - Bead & Reel with The REAL Bark

Each year 2.7 million adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized in the United States. The number of euthanized animals could be reduced dramatically if more people adopted pets instead of buying them!

Meet Hudson, a 2 year old gentleman who loved the camera (and people, and everything). We know that blending two great things can create the perfect combo, take for example this Staffy/Pittie mix or our organic cotton/lyocell mix.

The Real Bark Rescue Campaign with Bead & Reel

Animals from puppy mills are housed in poor conditions with improper medical care, and are often very sick and behaviorally troubled as a result. The moms of the puppies can be kept in cramped cages and bred over and over for years. By adopting a pet, you help end puppy mills!

Meet Gregg Allman, an enthusiastic German Shepherd puppy with lots of love to give, not to mention great style. Matching outfits are not required, but definitely not discouraged.

Friend + Fashion - The Real Bark with Bead & Reel

Many of the pets from shelters and rescues are already housetrained, which means you’re not only saving a pet’s life, you may be saving your rug.

Meet Hensley, an adult corgi mix who loves long walks and great style. A former stray from the mean streets of downtown Los Angeles, his gentle nature was a perfect match for our gentle-on-nature organic dress.
