Recycled Silver Dereje Necklace - Fair Anita Recycled Silver Dereje Necklace - Fair Anita

    Dereje Necklace

Long with lots of details, the Dereje is braided halfway down and then becomes a 6-strand necklace at the bottom. Made from bullet casings collected from the Ethiopian/Eritrean war, the metal is melted down and then turned into unique jewelry. Each is handmade at a women's cooperative in Ethiopia that employs women overcoming complications from female genital mutilation, rape, and HIV/AIDs. Closed with a loop and bead clasp, each style is named for one of the inspiring women in the cooperative.

    Made In: Ethiopia
Made From: recycled bullet casings, 100% brass
    Size: 38"
